I have bought a docking station. It has 2x DP and 1x HDMI outputs. From the notebook to the docking station it is USB with DP (power supply of the notebook, Ethernet, etc. everything works).

I thought that with this cable I could use the DP output on the docking station and the HDMI input on the screen. However, this does not work. The screen has 1x HDMI input and when I use the only HDMI output on the docking station and connect it to the screen, I get a picture. So the image transfer from the docking station to the screen works.

Do I need a different cable?

I did it exactly the same way and it works for me.
I connected the HP docking station (two DP) to the monitor (HDMI) with this cable.
Works fine.
