I have an HDMI 2.2 compatible AV receiver and the Samsung TV UE55NU7400 (UHD/4k) with HDMI 2.0. Is this cable with HDMI 2.1 worthwhile for this combo or does the extra power of the cable not bring anything anyway because the TV is still 2.0? We can assume backward compatibility with HDMI >2.0, right? Thank you very much!
HDMI 2.2 does not (yet) exist. You are confusing HDCP with HDMI. Your receiver very probably has HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 ;-)
I use the Club 3D HDMI 2.1 cables to play Dolby Atmos on my AV receiver when I play a 4K movie on BlueRay/4K player.
Unfortunately, I cannot answer this question conclusively.
Swisscom TV, for example, requires at least HDMI 2.0b, otherwise the picture flickers. Unaware of this fact, I have made 2 bad purchases with so-called (even gold-plated) high-speed cables!
In any case, it is never worth buying outdated technology.
