I don't quite understand what the cable is for that is supposed to be included when it is a wireless adapter.

After all, there is no cable included. The adapter is only in the "Gaming cables + adapters" section.

There is a short extension in case the stick does not fit into the USB port. Therefore the cable is for the adapter and not to connect to the controller.
