Question about Brother QL-800

I don't know anything about label printers. Can I use non-Brother labels with it? If so, do I just have to pay attention to the maximum width (and that it is suitable for thermal) or something else?

There are alternative manufacturers. Use "Compatible with QL-800" when searching. For small quantities, I recommend labels from the manufacturer.
