I discovered a memo on the manufacturer's website that owners of WFR-32 and WFR-39 series devices will have to accept a reduction in the device's functions from 15 December 2024. Apparently the problem is the following: From 15 December 2024, the "MediaU" server has been switched off and the "M6" and "Magic X" services have been transferred to the "airable" server. Specifically, this should now mean that with the two devices SANGEAN WFR-32 and SANGEAN WFR-39, the weather information should no longer work in standby mode from now on and it should also no longer be possible to save a favourite channel list. Here is the link to the memo: https://eu.sangean.com/uk/blog/149 Now that terms like "MediaU", "airable", "M6" and "Magic X" are foreign to me and galaxus/digitec is an official SANGEAN dealer, I have a few questions for you; Did I understand correctly that it is not possible to save favourite channels on these devices from now on? -Do I really have to search for my favourite station every time I change channels? -Or are there plans to restore this function with the current (or possibly a future) software update? (I could cope with the fact that the weather info function is no longer guaranteed (although it would still be a reduction in function and therefore a reduction in the value of the device).However, the function of being able to save a favourite station list is a very important function that is impossible to do without and must therefore be restored in order not to make these devices unusable! (Possibly with a corresponding software update). I also wonder how long such devices can guarantee their full functions before they are switched off due to server shutdowns and/or changes and thus make the devices obsolete? I therefore ask you to ask the manufacturer in detail what steps are planned to restore the lost functions of these radios and thus not to make these devices obsolete before they are sold?
