Your assumption is correct :) But whether it is worth it at the price I would consider. A HUE LED strip itself is not much more expensive and usually a lot brighter than most cheaper alternatives (unless you have a 5m strip in use :P). Besides, with a HUE strip you could also control the brightness and heat via Google :)

Thanks for the information. I have actually installed about 4m of LED strips from Paulmann in the kitchen, where white LEDs are enough for me. In the bedroom I have the relatively expensive ones from Philipps. I will probably buy the SmartPlug and have a look at it.
