I am looking for a converter from HDMI to scart connection, so that I can connect the DVD recorder, i.e. the direction runs from HDMI to scart (input) and not vice versa. Is it possible with this converter?

That won't work with these *Delock Scart to HDMI converters*.
But I think this one should work:
