I am going to assemble a PC for the first time and have selected the components here. Will this combination work? I still have the SSD and fan from the old, broken PC. It's also important to me that the PC is quiet. And is the WLan module on the mainboard any good, or would a WLan card be better? https://www.digitec.ch/de/ShopList/Show?shopListId=B87BCFCE0EE709
So the wifi module from the Z270E works very well, I'm using that right now.
I have pretty much the same system at the moment (i7-7700K, Asus Strix O8G-1070, Asus Strix Z270E).
Am very happy with the system, for 1440p, 165Hz gaming really nice ;)
For such discussions, the discussion round is thanked and NOT the question option on a product.
Firstly, what is the purpose of this PC I'm assuming gaming. So i will say this, i would not use the 7700k in combination with a 1070. i would go for a ryzen 1600 for the following reasons: 1. cheap with decent cooler. 2. AMd uses the same platform longer than intel longer availability (in case mobo or cpu should fail or you still want to update the cpu sometime).
3. it's actually always enough on fullhd so 1920x1080 my graka is the bottleneck at least on high settings or better and i own the gtx 1070 gaming x from msi.
4. stock cooler very good. on 3.8ghz when gaming not audible in my be quiet silent base 800.(no cooler purchase necessary).
Disadvantages:
In some games it performs weaker than its intel colleague because it consistently delivers 60fps + (the 1070 is the bottleneck).
in normal games approx 120fps average in csgo approx 200fps min 250 average.
However, if you want to go with intel then I would wait for december when coffeelake should be available and an i5 8400 will do.
I would rather invest the money saved in a 1080 so you get more out of it. I can't say what the wifi module of mainboards is like. However, if you still want to buy a 1070, I would wait a little longer because the prices should drop a little shortly after the release of the 1070 Ti.
