I already have one of these in one children's room and would like to install a second one in the other children's room. Do the remote controls work independently of each other? I do not have a bridge.

Without a bridge, a remote control can only be used for one luminaire. This means that one remote control is needed per luminaire, which function independently of each other.
A connection of 2 luminaires to one remote control is only possible via Bridge/App.
