I actually only need a line-in port for my laptop with a microphone/headphone combination connection. Are there any simpler (and cheaper) solutions than this device, which has far too many connections? A small adapter that has only one line-in port and nothing else would be ideal. The answer is probably no - in any case, I didn't find a compact USB sound card with a real line-in connection (stereo, blue-coded jack) back then either.

I need this device to connect older devices and to digitise cassettes etc. This is done via software and all the other (smaller) devices were not useful. But only for the combination connection of microphone and headphones, the cheaper model would certainly be sufficient.
