How does the Spotify connect work? Do I have to stay within bluetooth distance of the device with my smartphone or do I only need the smartphone to start playback?

Helpful answer

For the first connection, the radio and smartphone must be in the same Wi-Fi network. After that, playback is also possible without WLAN and Bluetooth. The radio starts and switches to Spotify Connect mode as soon as this is selected on the mobile phone. Alternatively, the connection also works via Bluetooth, as with any other Bluetooth speaker.
