Question about Dell P2419H
Hi The monitor has various USB ports: 2 "normal" USB-A on the side, two USB-A at the bottom and another UBS-B at the bottom. Unfortunately, a USB-C port is missing. I use a Macbook Pro with 4 USB-C ports. At the moment, I have connected the monitor via a borrowed USB-C adapter using an HDMI cable. I would also like to connect my mouse and keyboard via USB-A dongle. Can I use one of the USB-A ports on the monitor for this? This does not work if the monitor is connected via HDMI cable. Which cable do I need instead? USB-C to USB-A or USB-B? I'm looking for the solution to get away with as few adapters as possible.... Thank you very much!
Hello, this is already the correct solution, as only two USB2 (bottom) and USB3 (left) peripherals can be connected to the USB hub of the monitor via the cable supplied.
If this is at all possible with a Macbook Pro, I would operate the mouse and keyboard directly on the Macbook Pro, ideally wirelessly via Bluetooth.
If you want/need to permanently connect both (i.e. not wirelessly) to the monitor and the Macbook has no USB2/3 ports (for the USB(B) cable supplied by Dell), a second USB-C adapter is needed to use the USB hub of the monitor.
Maybe this will help for the time being :-)
