Hi, I have an Imac (mid2011) with a Thunderbolt port and I would like to connect an external monitor HDMI, would this be the right cable?

Should work - have MacBook Air with Thunderbolt port and external monitor via HDMI - all good but when I connect my Thunderbolt display to MacBook Pro and then connect external monitor with HDMI from Thunderbolt display via Thunderbolt port (daisy chain) HDMI monitor does not work :(
