Question about Value DisplayPort — DVI
Hi, 1 screen is connected to my Surface Pro via cable (DisplayPort to Mini DP, connector on Surface). Now I would like to attach a second screen. Is it possible with this adapter or do I need a splitter that takes the DisplayPort cable from both screens and "unites" on the (only) Mini DP port on the Surface?
With Display Port there is the possibility of 'daisy chaining'. Monitor 1 is connected to the computer. Monitor 2 is connected to monitor 1. Works with Display Port or USB-C, not with HDMI. The prerequisite would be that it supports the monitor. Splitters that can do this are rare and expensive.
A Surface Pro 7, as I don't know which one you have, has only one port. To connect two screens, you need either a splitter or a screen with USB-C. Maybe there is also a docking station.
