Question about Sonos HDMI ARC to Optical

Hello, Does this cable only work for Sonos products? Let me explain: I have a TV without hdmi arc output but with spidf output. I would like to connect a Marshall Woburn 3 speaker with hdmi arc input for the TV sound. Would this work? Thanks
