It's quite a jingle with the denominations. I've already been fooled into thinking that full duplex was printing and scanning, but no, not at all, look at the spec of the machine to have double-sided scanning! It's a good idea to check the specs of the machine to see if it has double-sided scanning!

Otherwise here are the official HP denominations

fnw: supports both wired and wireless
fdw: supports duplex printing and wireless
fdn: supports duplex printing and no wireless.
