Question about RØDE smartLav+
Hello together, I recently bought this mic. Unfortunately, as soon as I plug in the microphone, the output sound (e.g. during a Zoom Call or Insta-Live) is not output. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks and LG Grondo
If you only have a combo jack (or also known as TRRS - for microphone and headphones, typically on smartphones and new laptops) on the device, then you seem to need to plug a Y-cable into the main port, e.g.:
InLine Audio Headset Adapter Cable (0.15 m, Entry, 3.5mm Jack (AUX))
Very important: the plug must be a TRRS jack. So, have three black rings.
You connect the microphone to one jack and headphones or a loudspeaker to the other. Apparently nothing else works.
I'm not sure if it works that way, because the microphone's jack has three black rings (or TRRS) and not two. Apparently you also need the adapter shown in the picture below:

What is your playback device? Is it possible that it wants to play the input and output sound via the same device? You can probably select in the settings where the output sound should be played.
