I've only had it for 2 months, so I'm not familiar with all the features.
I've never tried to prepare anything from the outside, but it seems to me that your mobile phone and the device must be connected to the same WIFI network to interact with each other.
perhaps other users can confirm
there may also be a timer function that I haven't had a chance to test yet
but personally, I'm quite happy with this device
