Question about Elgato Game Capture HD60S+
Hello, I have a small problem with the Elgato that the connection to the PC always breaks off at regular intervals of a few minutes. I have connected my switch, everything is intact on the switch, everything is connected correctly, I have also already tried different USB connections and everywhere the same problem exists. After a few seconds, it connects again. However, the sound still works during the failure. I have downloaded the software from Elgato.
Hello, I use the Capture Box without software - the Capture Box is recognised by my system (Windows 10) as a camera and is used that way.
Of course, there could be a defect in the Elgato. However, before sending it back for repair, it would be advisable to check the cable connections. It happens with both HDMI and USB cables that they work perfectly at lower transfer rates, but suddenly produce errors at higher data throughput; this is not at all uncommon, especially with longer cables. I recently had a very similar problem (albeit with a different device configuration), which also manifested itself in a very similar way (disconnection after a short time) and, after appropriate attempts, was clearly attributable to the USB cable (UBS C 3.1, Gen. 2, 2m) being too long. Therefore, as a first step, I recommend replacing the cables with good quality cables that are as short as possible. If it then works, the cause is clearly not the devices used.
