Question about Sony E 35mm f/1.8 OSS

Hello experienced photographers, I'm relatively new to the world of lenses (so far I've only photographed with an old SLR with a fixed lens). Now I have set myself the goal of buying a 35 mm lens. I have often read that with APS-C cameras the focal length (with Sony) has to be multiplied by a factor of 1.5 to get the real focal length. Is this also the case with specific APS-C lenses or is this already taken into account with these? Long story short: Does this lens on my APS-C camera correspond to a focal length of 35 mm or do I have to buy a 24 mm or 25 mm lens for a focal length of 35 mm? Thank you very much

Hi manuel,

yes, if you are using a lens on an APSC camera, you should multiply the focal length of the lens by a factor of 1.5 to determine the 35mm equivalent focal length. 1.5 is then referred to as the crop factor.
If you use the SEL35F18 on an APSC camera, the equivalent focal length is 52.5 mm. So to get the equivalent of a 35 mm lens on an APSC camera, you should buy a 24 mm APSC lens.
35 mm equivalent focal length (APS-C) and "angle of view (APS-C)" refer to digital cameras with interchangeable lens and APS-C type image sensor.
