Hello - does this converter help to attach a Dell screen? I already have an adapter from Macally from VGA to USB C connection, but the notebook (Acer Aspire 5) does not want to recognise the screen at all via this. Thanks for any hints!

The task of the Digitus Converter is to connect a monitor with VGA input (your Dell monitor) to a PC/laptop with HDMI output (your Aspire 5). This worked for me (with other devices). Whether this works with your Aspire 5 (which model exactly?) and your Dell monitor (which model exactly?) remains to be seen. Your Aspire 5 probably has HDMI 2.0, the Digitus is "compatible with HDMI 1.4a", it is to be hoped that the Aspire is also backwards compatible with HDMI 1.4a. The only thing that will help is to try it out, but at least it's worth a try - after the USB connection didn't work...
