Good morning, can I connect the card to the laptop via USB and then go from the card to the system via Toslink?

I connected the external Sound Blaster X4 with USB to a mini PC and then analogue to a sound system, works perfectly. I think that a connection via the existing Toelink connection also works (and of course with even better quality :-) I later bought a small soundbar from Creative, but it already has an integrated sound card, so I no longer need the X4 ...
