i-tec Triple Dock
USB-C, 2 Ports
Good evening I received this docking station today and put it into operation. The expansion of the monitor works fine so far. Unfortunately, I can't manage to operate my Surface Laptop 3 at a higher resolution than 1920x1080 with 2 monitors. If only one is connected, the maximum resolution also works. Therefore, is it not possible to use this dock with 2 monitors with a higher resolution?
Hello,
1920x1080@60Hz is the maximum resolution for 2 external monitors - this is a limitation of USB-C technology - as USB-C is not able to get more information through the connector.
There are other docking stations (based on different technology) and these docking stations do support 2x 4K/60Hz.

Good morning :-) Have a look at the small manual, it says something about resolutions or restrictions with several monitors, although I think it is mainly described for MacOS. But it could be that the Surface reacts in the same way. I wanted to use an Hdmi and a DP on the dock, but the DP only works in sigle mode! So I think the dock still has 1-2 teething problems, which is not unusual for the price. Try a different combination, e.g. VGA and DP or Hdmi and VGA, and maybe something will work! Hope I could help you. Best regards, Mario
