DJI responded to me like this:
As the new CE rules do not come into effect until the beginning of July 2020, drones that we currently sell cannot be verified by the new CE rules. DJI will have the Mavic Air 2 certified under the new CE rules immediately after the new CE rules come into effect.
According to our legal department, it is perfectly fine to fly the Mavic Air 2 even if it is not currently certified under the new CE rules. In addition, the products currently sold have a two-year protection period even after the new regulations come into force, so the Mavic Air 2 can fly normally during this time.
Two years after the publication of the new rules, our aircraft can still fly in the area where the previous CE rules were adopted. In the areas where the new CE rules are implemented, users must follow the instructions of the local authorities to unlock the aircraft. In addition, the new EU CE rules have not yet been published and the details are not yet finalised. There are no organisations that can offer the new CE certification or the C0 to C3 classification.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Thank you for your understanding and for choosing DJI.
