Yes it should. Since the DVI cable's end it's dual link. You should not need any active adapter because displayport support natively DVI signal.

I believe it is single link (DVI-I) and would not support 2560x1440. You need DVI-D (double link), which goes up to 2560x1600. However, to get true DVI-D (dual-link), you need an ACTIVE adapter, something that is way more expensive, not just a simple cable. See for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki...
