Does the Eaton mini UPS 36w also protect the devices from power fluctuations? For example, if the mains voltage drops from 230 V to 210 V? In some shops it is classified as a VFD and would therefore not protect against fluctuations. However, I wonder if such fluctuations are at all relevant for this unit, since it outputs a maximum of 19 V anyway? Eaton's documentation does not mention any classification, but also does not advertise any protection against current fluctuations for this product. Is the supply permanently from the battery or is it switched on when needed?
It is a power supply unit, outputs direct current and also works with 110 volts, so the fluctuations do not matter. As I understand it, the battery does not run and is switched on in the event of a mains failure. There are only two cells in it. It has to run via a voltage converter anyway and output the set voltage in direct current.
The answer is correct, the battery is only switched on when required, even according to our enquiry.
