Does the Brother print until the toner is empty, or does the software determine (calculate) when the toner is empty (even if this is not the case)? This is unfortunately the case with my Samsung, the printer then bucks and is annoying. with the request to order a replacement.
Hello Birdsofpray
In a printer that uses toner, it is essential that the toner cartridge with integrated developer (roll) is not allowed to run out. Problem A: If the toner powder is too low, the printout will be very light. Full-surface images become increasingly lighter/paler towards the bottom. Problem B: Due to the lack of toner on the develop roll, the drum is worn out (damaged), which ultimately leads to earlier replacement and higher costs.
Unfortunately, I cannot say whether there are still printers today with toner only as a "reservoir", i.e. without developer. Perhaps there are other users who will get in touch.
If your main interest is to print something "empty", then I would recommend an inkjet printer. You can get these cartridges almost** empty / **Now: there is also a little left over for cleaning the print head, or for keeping the nozzles moist ;-)
