Question about Brother MFC-J5740DW
Does the Brother MFC-J5740DW have an automatic duplex scan function? If so, single or dual pass? Assuming that such a duplex scan function existed, would this printer be very very good value for money, or am I missing any disadvantages?
I don't know exactly what you mean by duplex, single and dual pass. But you have the following setting options:
- 1-sided (scanning only the front side)
- 2-sided-Flip on long edge (Scanning front and back side with wrap over long side)
- 2-sided flip on short edge (scanning front and back with pagination over broadside)
- 1-sided (scanning only the front side)
- 2-sided-Flip on long edge (Scanning front and back side with wrap over long side)
- 2-sided flip on short edge (scanning front and back with pagination over broadside)

Yes, the machine can scan A4 in duplex (2-sided = scans the front and back in one "pass"). It can print not only A4 but also A3 and also duplex. See here: under "Product details": https://www.brother.ch/de-ch...

Yes, it has A4 duplex scanning, single pass, 25 pages/minute!
Prints up to A3, but only A4 duplex (not A3!) - a pity. That's the only disadvantage, in my opinion.
But fast: A4 b/w and colour - 28 ppm, A4 b/w and colour duplex - 21 ppm.
