Helpful answer

Good evening dear users and interested parties of the ET-5150,
first of all, if I may not contradict a lady, I must qualify from practical experience as follows:
1.Xubuntu 20.04 LTS works fine both print and scan function.
2.on the regular Epson site this is not obviously offered.
This is because there is no official support. However, on a separate page there is end-user support including downloads and instructions per distribution.
Here is the link:
https://support.epson.net/linux...

Other distributions are also described there.

Practical tip,
Install the "Epson Scan 2" programme for sensible scanning.
It is more convenient for me than XSANE.

Technical tip for configuration in the network:
After a kernel update, check whether the printer is still connected.
After last weekend, the ET-5150 was removed from the printer driver configuration (CUPS.CONF).
In my opinion, this is due to a compilation error in the patch from 5.2.2022 in Ubuntu.
This sporadically overwrites the above-mentioned file with an outdated copy.
This has also happened with my HP LJ-2100TN.
Both printers are on my network and not connected directly to the PC.
My assumption is that the link between the above-mentioned configuration file and the corresponding host name is lost because the Epson is connected by name and not by IP address.
With the HP printer mentioned above, deleting and reinstalling the printer on the CUPS page (internal web service of the local print service in Debian-based Linux) solved the problem.

This is under observation for the ET-5150 because I use the host name for printing from the smartphone.

Have fun with the printer, it is also recommended under Xubuntu from my point of view.

Have a nice evening,
Knubbels

Good morning Anonymous...
It almost looks like ET-5150 won't work on Linux.
https://www.epson.ch/support
When I select Linux here, it shows that there are no drivers for this operating system,
Ask Epson directly, because I can't find anything in the FAQ either.
I had downloaded all the drivers from the Epson HP at the time, as the CD supplied did not install the drivers properly and the updates did not work. I have Windows 10.
The printer as such is absolutely great.
I hope you can do something with my answer and I hope that someone from Galaxis will contact me.
Good luck and lisa
