Question about Digitec USB-A - USB-C

Does charging from an (old) Apple 5 Watt adapter with USB A connection to USB C (iPhone 16 pro) work? If not, can you recommend a cable (max. 1 m, fabric sheath)? Unfortunately, it's not mentioned anywhere in the product descriptions. I don't want to dispose of the old power adapters. Thank you for your help.

The cable works fine. It could possibly be that the old charger is not powerful enough. I don't think that's the case, otherwise Apple would have reported it. Regards.
