Do I need a headphone amplifier for this or can I connect the headphones directly to the Macbook?

Helpful answer
You can connect it directly to the MacBook, but then the volume is very limited. My recommendation: Try without on the MacBook and buy an amplifier a few days later if the volume does not fit.
