Yes, that is possible, see here on the manufacturer's page under "Mobile connectivity" where the apps are listed: https://www.brother.ch/de-ch...
Either directly = Wifi-direct or even simpler in the home W-LAN = MFC + mobile phone in the same network - device does not have to be in the W-LAN but simply in the network with cable.
