Can this controller be used with a Joy-Con set (included with the console) so that 3 players can play Mario Kart 8 together?

Hi Loewa1. Yes, it works. We often use the Pro Controller and the two small Joy-Cons with Mario Kart 8. With the small Joy-Con controllers we also use these holders:
SPEEDLINK Grip Handle Set (Switch)

(Without the holder, the Joy-Con is a bit small for normal hands...)
