Can the USB-C output also charge at 87 watts, or will my late 2016 15 inch Macbook Pro also charge reasonably via the USB-C port (since most monitors, apart from the LG 5k Ultrafine Display, only support laptops up to 42 watts)?

Unfortunately, we do not have any information from the manufacturer regarding the wattage. However, according to customer reviews, charging a laptop via USB-C does not work.
