Can the device also be used with a new Windows 10 HP notebook that has a USB-C (Thunderbolt) port (Digitec mentions Windows 10, but only Macs are listed under Compatibility) ?

With my HP Spectre laptop with USB-C, the thing works perfectly under Ubuntu Linux (LAN, HDMI, SD, USB, charging) - as mentioned, it gets quite warm, but that doesn't hurt ;)
