Can STEP files be printed directly from AUTOCAD or do they have to be converted?

XYZprinting Da Vinci 1.0 Pro 3-in-1 only accepts ".stl" files. The 3D graphic can usually be converted/saved to the corresponding STL format when "Save as" (this is how it works with SolidWorks).
The STL file can then be imported into the XYZprinting software.
