Can I use as a rice cooker?
I have never tried it.
The instructions explicitly mention to cook rice or pasta. I think it's ok for rice, but not for pasta (unless you like it really sticky...)
But I think that cooking rice might take a bit longer than with a real rice cooker, because of the power. 10' more at least rather than 20' for 3 cups of rice maybe?
Conclusion: it's ok but not ideal.

I think it should be possible, but I have used it more for slow cooking and one pot recipes (see Sarah Wilson). It is perfect for this type of slow cooking over 5 to 8 hours.
