Can I use a normal 3.5mm cable as an extension?
With a 4-pole cable it should work. But it should be built for microphone purposes like this one:
RØDE SC1 TRRS extension cable to smartLav+, 6m.
I haven't tried it myself though.
I think night because plug is 4-pole.
