Question about Value Mini DisplayPort — DisplayPort
Can I now use it to connect an apple air from 2014 to a 4k monitor? the connection on the apple is marked with a lightning bolt, i.e. as Thunderbolt. But it suggests that thunderbolt and mini display are somehow the same thing. Thank you
Yes, it should work, Thunderbolt 1 & 2 ports are fully compatible with Mini Displayport. Whether the Macbook Air can drive all the pixels of a 4K display is another question, you may have to expect reduced resolution.
