According to various sources, the European version is equipped with a 15 bar OPV. In order to deliver usable coffee, the OPV itself would have to be changed to one with 9 bar. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes, very easy, you can find it online (me via ShadesOfCoffee). I'm a zero when it comes to craftsmanship, but I got it done. I don't know what the warranty will look like, but I assume it will be cancelled.
