According to "toppreise", the prices of the cards are supposed to be north of the 950 mark. If this is true, I'm really fed up with it. In the days before RTX, 80s cards were around 400. They were good, reasonably priced and not overly power-hungry like they are today. Meanwhile, it amazes me that so few consumers care. Has Youtube really washed your brains out?
First of all, those "80s cards" were good for Age of Empires or Gta 3 or who knows what back then, and of course they didn't eat up so much power. Today's graphics cards are firstly expensive because the technology is getting much better (graphics, etc.). Secondly, they need so much power because you also have 3 fans, a fat Gpu and other things inside. Times are changing and if you're not satisfied you can buy a Gt 970 and play Age of Empires on it...
I don't know what kind of sites you're surfing, but it was clear from the beginning that the 3080 would be cheap compared to the 2080 (nothing to do with 950). Such prices are from dubious bots who bought all the shops out right at the beginning and are now selling the cards at exaggerated prices. Besides, yes, the stuff is getting more expensive. There is also much more in it than before. And more technology requires more electricity. That should be logical.
