According to EPSON, the device also prints A3, Digitec doesn't have that on it? Which is correct?

Yes, it can do A3, and that includes the paper trays.

The ET-16600 and ET-16650 models are identical except for the colour printheads.
ET-16600 = 800 nozzles black, 256 nozzles per colour
ET-16650 = 800 nozzles black, 800 nozzles per colour
This results in slightly faster COLOUR printing on the mod. ET-16650 for the corresponding surcharge.
However, print and scanner resolution are the same for both models!

Both models have 2 paper trays each for up to A3, as well as the fold-out additional tray (top, vertical feed).

It took me some time to finally realise that each of the 2 paper cassettes can/must be pulled apart to the front for the use of A3 paper. In the printer, the correct paper size can/should also be set for each paper cassette in the corresponding menu.

In the Philippines (where I am now) the printer is sold as model L15150 which corresponds to the ET-16600 in Switzerland.
I am now using the Epson L15150 as a replacement for my old A3 colour LED printer OKI C830dn for which I can only get toner etc. at fantasy prices in the Philippines.

My first experiences with the Epson printer are very positive, especially the fact that the colours are now also printed with PIGMENT ink. The PIGMENT ink bottles cost more, but compared to the possible print quantity they are still very cheap.

Yes, it prints A3 and oversize as well as borderless. However, it only prints from the fold-out additional tray and not from the paper cassette, as I actually thought. When printing to the edge, it can spill. However, as I currently only have A3 paper with a high recycled content, I cannot say whether this is also the case with paper intended for inkjet printers.
