- Is this scanner suitable for postal deposit slips? - How does this scanner get power (via USB plug?)

I can scan in postal deposits with this scanner. My PC runs on Windows 10 and now that Swiss Post can finally scan inpayment slips via the app, I rarely if ever need it.

I can't use the device for mail deposits because it doesn't work for me with Windows 8.1. It worked on a trial basis with the HP tablet with Windows 10. The device has a battery that is charged with the USB cable.
