Advanced digital signal processing enables three selectable polar patterns in a single, versatile microphone: super-directional, unidirectional, and omnidirectional. Eight high-performance microphones use a newly developed beamforming algorithm to achieve extremely clear directivity that effectively suppresses off-axis noise. The microphone is surprisingly compact, with a length of only 99.3 mm. When connected via the accessory shoe with multiple interfaces of a compatible camera that has an integrated digital audio interface, the audio signal is transmitted directly to the camera in digital form, eliminating sound loss.
