The CP436 ARGB fan controller offers a high performance of 36 watts per channel. With a total of four channels, this amounts to a total power of 144 watts. To adapt the cooling performance and noise levels of the PC to personal and changing requirements, this controller allows direct access through six channels. The manufacturer, Lamptron, opted for a classic layout with rotary knobs.
These are housed on a solid black aluminum panel in a 5.25-inch format and are designed for corresponding slots. According to the manufacturer, each of the six channels can handle a load of 45 watts. However, we would like to point out that this value is unrealistically high, and each channel should only be loaded up to 20 watts. The stepless adjustment via the rotary knobs offers a range from 0 to 12 volts.
Additionally, the respective voltage is indicated continuously through a change in brightness of the built-in LEDs. This allows for a quick visual check to see whether individual channels are disabled, set to maximum, or at medium level.
The controller is connected to the power supply using a 4-pin Molex connector and is powered through it. The fans are connected via 3-pin connectors. The package also includes six 3-pin extension cables, each approximately 45 cm in length.
Note: The rotary knobs protrude slightly, making installation in cases with a front door usually impossible.
