The Votronic Energy Monitor consists of a special communication module (Bluetooth Connector S-BC) that, when used with a Votronic
solar charge controller (from 2014 serial number 14Vxx.xxxxx) and/or the LCD Solar Computer S and/or the LCD Battery Computer S or VPC Jupiter with Smart Shunt, transmits the values displayed on the corresponding screen to a mobile device via Bluetooth. The required app for Android or iOS is available for free in the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

Connecting the Bluetooth Connector S-BC is incredibly simple. It is connected using the modular cable included in the package between the Votronic solar charge controller and the LCD Solar Computer S or between the Smart Shunt and the LCD Battery Computer S or VPC Jupiter. The device has 2 inputs and outputs each, allowing one solar controller with LCD Solar Computer and one Smart Shunt with LCD Battery Computer or VPC Jupiter to be connected to a single communication module.

This way, all information about the onboard battery, such as voltage, charge and discharge currents, and remaining capacity, as well as all data from the solar system, can be conveniently read via a mobile phone or tablet. Additionally, the most important data is logged, presented graphically, and stored for an extended period. It is even possible to export the data as a CSV file for personal analysis purposes. This digital measuring device displays the voltage of both the onboard and starter batteries. The voltages are shown as precise numerical values.
The additional bar display operates in the range of 10.5 to 15 volts, effectively illustrating the most interesting range of battery voltage from deep discharge to maximum charging voltage. During installation, the device is set once for either 12V or 24V operation. In 24V operation, the range then corresponds to 21.0 to 30.0 volts. A mixed operation, for example, with a 24V starter circuit and a 12V supply circuit, is also possible, as this setting is made separately for the starter and onboard batteries. The connection is made via screw terminals on the back of the device. Designed to fit the VOTRONIC modular system, the LCD Voltmeter S aligns visually and mechanically (uniform height of 85 mm) with the other display modules, and its low installation depth of only 22 mm allows for mounting in almost any location. The display is backlit in white (switchable) if needed and is easily readable from greater distances and in all lighting conditions.
