On this page you'll find a ranking of the best RME Audio products in this category. To give you a quick overview, we've already ranked the most important information about the products for you.

1. RME Audio Fireface 802 FS

The Fireface 802 FS is a highly integrated pro-audio solution for live and studio use in a 19" chassis. It is an interface for users who do not want to compromise on sound, stability, and extremely low latency, and who are looking for an unparalleled professional feature set. Once again, it is a milestone among RME interfaces, featuring the best of the best and a little bit more.

With 60 audio channels, high-end microphone preamps, reference-class converters, a complete effects section, and operation at up to 192 kHz, it serves as the foundation for many additional features.

2. RME Audio Octamic II

The OctaMic II integrates an 8-channel 192 kHz / 24-bit converter with eight high-quality microphone channels, equipped with top-notch components and proven RME technology. It features minimal distortion, an outstanding signal-to-noise ratio, and a linear frequency response that transmits and amplifies microphone signals absolutely uncolored, ensuring an authentic sound.

The OctaMic II offers 8 balanced mic/line inputs via XLR connectors. Each channel has individually switchable phantom power (48V), a low-cut filter, and phase inversion. The gain is adjustable from 6 to 60 dB. Once the special clip-hold mode is activated and clipping is detected, the respective clip LED begins to blink once per second. This peak monitoring mode saves the user from constantly watching the clip LEDs, while still accurately displaying all acute clipping.

On the front panel, there are switches for power and the selection of the reference level, which can be set to -10 dBV, +4 dBu, or Hi Gain (+19 dBu). This unusual feature has two advantages: first, the reference level can be easily adapted to all current RME devices, from the HDSP 9632 to the Multiface and the high-quality converters of the ADI-8 series. Furthermore, the signal-to-noise ratio is optimized, and the clip LED operates exactly like that of the ADI-8 (2 dB below 0 dBFS).

On the rear panel, the microphone signals are available at 8 stereo jack sockets with balanced line level. The specially designed internal high-performance power supply for the OctaMic II operates in the range of 100 V to 240 V AC. It is short-circuit proof, features an integrated power filter, completely regulates voltage fluctuations, and suppresses power disturbances.

5. RME Audio Hdspe Madi

The HDSPe MADI is RME's both inexpensive and outstanding PCI Express card with MADI interface. HDSPe MADI is based on the award-winning HDSP MADI card, and represents the new top model of this world-wide successful card line.

The PCI Express card consequently uses all advantages of the MADI format, the professionals' multi-Channel audio interface, offering 64 channels of 24-bit audio at a sample rate of up to 48 kHz, 32 channels at up to 96 kHz and 16 channels at up to 192 kHz. Transmission is done via a single line, either coaxial with BNC plugs or by fiber cable. In both cases more than 100 m cable length can be achieved.

Compared with the HDSP MADI (Standard PCI version), the express card offers some new features: Support of higher sample rates than 96 kHz, more features in TotalMix (phase and internal loopback per channel, +6 dB gain for the hardware outputs), and the direct support of the Time Code Option. HDSPe MADI provides even lower latencies, making the card the perfect partner for live recording and live mixing applications. The analog monitor output is equipped with the low-latency converter technology of the ADI-8 QS, thus guaranteeing stunning SNR and THD values too.

HDSPe MADI is fully compatible to all devices with MADI interface. In combination with the ADI-648 an 8 x ADAT optical PC interface is realized, unbeatable in price and performance. With the ADI-6432 a bidirectional AES/EBU frontend with 64 channels is available.

On a powerful PC/Mac three HDSPe MADI can be used in a combination, providing 192 inputs and 192 outputs on a single workstation simultaneously.
