Material

Our socks are made from a heat-resistant, non-stick silicone material that repels the buildup of melted plastic. This is especially helpful with sticky materials like co-polyester and filled materials that tend to accumulate on nozzles.

Temperature Stability

They also offer a significant increase in temperature stability, especially when you use high airflow around the nozzle for cooling the print. The additional cooling, combined with the reduced heat radiation from the block and nozzle to the print, enhances the ability to print large overhangs and bridges while keeping the HotEnd temperature extremely stable.

Usage

The covers simply slide onto the front of the Hot End without needing to be disassembled. When first pushed on cold, they fit snugly. When hot, the silicone expands to the right size and conforms to the Hot End.

V6 Socks come in a 3-pack as they do not last forever. Depending on the materials you print and how heavily they are used, the silicone will wear down over time. Even with sticky, abrasive materials and a bit of misuse, they should easily last 100+ printing hours. With less sticky materials like ABS and gentler use, you can achieve an almost unlimited lifespan. Your mileage may vary.
