Meta Rift S

Meta Rift S
I got the Rift S as an update for the Rift CV1. Is the update worth it? Yes and how! The sharpness of the image is like day and night! The black level is great despite the LCD, unless you only play horror or space games, it doesn't bother you at all. The tracking is very good. I haven't experienced the 80 Hz instead of the 90 Hz in a negative way yet. Only the speakers are for the cat, I'll get additional (CV1-like) headphones here. Since I play a lot of flight simulator, the better picture is worth every centime and increases the immersion extremely. I'm thrilled, that's why I gave it 5 stars!
Please note before buying:
Initially I had problems with my USB 3.0 connections, as my mainboard (Rampage IV) is already getting on in years. Setting up the glasses was not possible. However, with the Startech USB 3.0 SuperSpeed (7 ports) controller card from Digitec, it worked as long as you used the Windows internal drivers and not those on the website. So before buying, be sure to download the compatibility tool from Oculus. If there is a red cross next to the USB ports, you should order the controller card at the same time.

What do you mean by external card?
Because it looks like I have the same problem - everything is connected correctly according to the software and it shows 2 green ticks. But in the sensor check nothing works anymore.
As mentioned above in the review text, I had to install the USB expansion card "Startech USB 3.0 SuperSpeed (7 ports)" because the USB ports on my mainboard were not accepted, as they were probably too old. Then the sensors don't work and the Rift is unusable. So buy the product mentioned, install it and UNCONDITIONALLY use the standard Windows drivers, only then will it work. A bios update may be all you need. Good luck and have fun with the Rift S!
