The LED light on the front of the case indicates that your AirPods are charging. And if you don't have a charging mat nearby, you can charge them via the Lightning connector. AirPods offer 5 hours of playback and 3 hours of talk time per charge. With their charging case, which holds additional charges for 24 hours of playback, they keep up with everything you do. Need a quick charge? After just 15 minutes in the charging case, you can listen to music for 3 hours or talk for 2 hours. The AirPods are powered by the new Apple H1 chip, which uses optical sensors and accelerometers to detect whether they are in your ear. The H1 chip automatically routes audio signals and activates the microphone, whether you are using one or both AirPods. And when you are on a call or talking to Siri, an additional accelerometer with voice recognition and beamforming microphones reduce background noise and provide clearer voice quality.
